CSV processing and automation

From inventory CSV to a reviewed order draft

Reorder Desk is a working local software prototype. A person uses the browser interface and an external coding agent uses the same typed planning actions. Both work with the same revisioned inventory state.

Watch the working flow

A 59-second recording of the actual local application: sample inventory, a stock edit, an external CLI draft change, review and CSV export. It uses synthetic data and contains no audio.

A complete review workflow

  1. Import a supplier or inventory CSV, with validation for headers, numeric values, duplicate SKUs and quoted fields.
  2. Review current stock cover against supplier lead time, then adjust draft quantities in whole pack sizes.
  3. Let an external agent prepare a draft through the official Agent-Native CLI. Its changes appear in the open interface.
  4. Review the current quantities and export a CSV draft. A later change clears the earlier review.

The prototype handles 500 inventory rows and 64 KiB CSV files. Its planning target is stock cover from today, based on supplied average daily sales. Long supplier lead times remain visible as warnings. The output is an order draft for an operator to review.

Verified against the working application

Nine backend tests and ten browser workflow checks passed, together with TypeScript and production-build checks. The browser checks covered desktop and mobile layouts, CSV import, filters, stock and pack edits, review, export, and a real CLI write appearing without a page reload.

In a synthetic $900 budget scenario, Codex used current stockout gaps and pack sizes to prepare an $864 draft through the same actions. Those figures describe test inventory decisions. The app places no supplier orders or payments.

Implementation and authorship

Created on 25 October 2026 using Agent-Native core 0.220.0, React and Vite. The code and interface concept were authored with Codex and imagegen, then checked using actual CLI and Playwright browser runs. It is a local single-workspace prototype. The earlier CSV-quality API is a separate service.
